Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Austin Team Behind Hadley Chimney Austin
Hadley Chimney Austin has been cleaning and repairing chimneys across Travis County since 2003. Cory Mitchell built the company on a simple idea: show the customer exactly what you found, with photos, before recommending any work. The crew he’s put together in Austin operates the same way. Every tech arrives in a tracked window, walks the job with you, and documents everything with before-and-after photos. No mystery. No pressure. Just people who know chimneys and explain what they see in plain English.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Mike R. – Lead Technician
Mike has been with Hadley Chimney since 2011, and he’s the guy we send when a chimney has been neglected long enough to get interesting. He holds a CSIA certification and has probably pulled more dead birds out of Austin flues than anyone in the metro. Mike specializes in relining older masonry chimneys with DuraFlex flexible liner systems, and he’ll explain the difference between a parge coat and a smoke chamber repair without making you feel dumb. During cedar season, he goes through more respirator filters than the rest of the crew combined. Off the clock, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles and swears his garage is better organized than his truck. It’s not.
Danny T. – Senior Installer and Repair Specialist
Danny joined us in 2015 after years in commercial roofing, which means flashing seals and leak points around the chimney crown are second nature to him. He’s certified in HeatShield ceramic repair compound application and handles the more involved repair jobs: crown rebuilds, firebox repairs, and smoke chamber parging. Danny is the first person to tell you when a repair can wait and what actually needs attention now, which is exactly the kind of honesty we hire for. He’s a native Austinite who remembers when South Congress wasn’t a tourist destination, and he’ll happily recommend a taco spot if you ask. Most of his recommendations hold up.
Luis C. – Apprentice Sweep
Luis came aboard in 2023 and has already logged over 400 supervised sweeps. He’s currently working toward his CSIA certification and handles a lot of the routine annual cleanings, gas fireplace inspections, and camera inspections. Since every Hadley job includes photo documentation, Luis runs the before-and-after documentation on his calls and has gotten genuinely good at spotting early stage spalling (that’s when the brick face starts flaking off) before it becomes a structural problem. He’s also the reason we keep a full case of nitrile gloves on every truck. Luis spends weekends hiking the Barton Creek Greenbelt and maintains that the best breakfast tacos in Austin come from a trailer he refuses to name. Fair enough.
Sarah D. – Service Coordinator
If you call us, Sarah is likely the person who answers. She’s been with Hadley since 2018 and knows the Austin service area block by block: Hyde Park chimneys from the 1920s, Mueller homes built with modern direct-vent gas setups, and everything in between. She handles scheduling, pairs the right tech with the right job, and keeps the dispatch windows honest so you’re not waiting around on a four-hour guess. Sarah’s also the one who makes sure your written estimate is emailed before the tech ever arrives. When she’s not untangling a busy October sweep schedule, she’s at Town Lake with her rescue greyhound, who is reportedly the fastest couch potato in the city.
One Standard, Every Job
Every member of the Austin crew works under the same commitments, and those commitments aren’t marketing language. They’re the operating rules. Every job starts with a written price before any work begins, under The Relay Visibility Guarantee. You get live arrival tracking so you know when the truck pulls up. You get before-and-after photo documentation on every visit, not just the big jobs. Every repair carries a written guarantee for 365 days, and if the repair doesn’t hold, the second visit is free. That’s not an upsell or a promotion. It’s how the team has operated in Austin since 2003, and it’s the standard the Relay Home Co. family holds us to on every single call.
